Betagro Drives Sustainable Food Future with 25% Scope 3 Reduction Roadmap Towards 2050

Bangkok – 26 October 2026 – Betagro Public Company Limited (BTG), a leading integrated food company in Thailand, reinforced its leadership in sustainable food production at its annual sustainability forum, “Betagro SD Day 2026”, held under the theme “Sustainable Food through Net Zero.”

At the event, Betagro officially announced its Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction roadmap, setting an interim target to cut value chain emissions by 25% by 2035 on its journey to Net Zero by 2050. The company also highlighted significant progress across the five material sustainability dimensions under the “BETAGRO Saijai” concept, with several performance indicators surpassing their 2026 targets.

Amid global disruptions, including population growth, an aging society reshaping food consumption, and escalating climate crises such as global boiling, Super El Niño, and frequent natural disasters, Betagro is accelerating its mission to deliver sustainable food solutions. The company is committed to enhancing long-term food security alongside high standards of food quality and safety, while maintaining rigorous cost efficiency to avoid passing cost burdens to consumers.

Betagro drives its food sustainability agenda through the "BETAGRO Saijai" approach, which is anchored by 4 operational pillars: Ethics, Transparency, Data-Driven Execution, and Initiatives. As of August 2026 (Year-to-Date), Betagro achieved significant milestones across five material areas:

  • Food Quality & Safety: Reduced antimicrobial use (AMU/AMR) in livestock by 60.8%, outperforming the 2026 target of 50%.
  • Sustainable Packaging: Expanded eco-friendly packaging adoption to 98.2% across its product portfolio, on track to achieve the 2026 target of 98.5% and advancing toward 100% by 2030.
  • Climate Change Management: Reduced direct and indirect operational GHG emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 14%, exceeding this year's target of 13.5%.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Delivered positive community impact by assisting more than 24,300 households, tracking closely toward the 2026 target of 25,000 households.
  • Occupational Health & Safety: Maintained a continuous decline in workplace incident rates to 0.14 cases per 200,000 working hours, progressing steadily toward Zero Accidents.

Mr. Vasit Taepaisitphongse, Chief Executive Officer, Betagro Public Company Limited stated: “Our success in exceeding Scope 1 and 2 emission reduction goals is driven by the extensive adoption of renewable energy, including solar energy, biomass, and biogas. Building on this solid foundation, Betagro is taking a pivotal step forward by declaring our readiness for Scope 3 decarbonization. We have set a clear roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our entire value chain by 25% by 2035, paving the way toward achieving Net Zero by 2050.”

Mr. Thitiphong Ratanahiranya, Chief Procurement Officer, Betagro Public Company Limited added: “In the initial phase, Betagro will prioritize two core areas: upstream raw material sourcing across both agro and livestock businesses, and transportation and logistics. While tackling Scope 3 emissions presents significant complexity, our firm commitment, combined with close collaboration with supply chain partners, will enable us to turn these ambitious targets into tangible results.”

A key highlight of Betagro SD Day 2026 was a special session by Ms. Salinla Seehaphan, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director of Nestlé (Thai) Ltd., a global leader in food and nutrition. Ms. Salinla shared transformative insights and best practices on driving Net Zero through Regenerative Food Systems, inspiring participants and fostering cross-industry collaboration to build a resilient and sustainable global food landscape.

"At Betagro, we believe that food security and environmental stewardship must advance hand in hand. We remain dedicated to partnering with all stakeholders to accelerate the transition toward Net Zero 2050, foster sustainable food systems, and sustainably enrich the quality of life for all," concluded Mr. Vasit.
