Betagro e-Traceability is a food safety application for examining food product sources. It was developed and first used in 2003, initially to monitor Betagro’s comprehensive chicken business. This system gives detailed information from the breeding farms to cooked product manufacturing and other related processes. Later in 2006, Betagro extended this system to its comprehensive swine business. It allows the Company to see a bigger and more reliable picture regarding the source of the product in the entire supply chain from swine breeding farming, fattening pig farming, processing plant and feed mill to animal health and supplementary substance production plants. This system has also been applied to feed business.
Betagro created a supporting website, www.clickspyonme.com, for overseas customers to trace back Betagro’s food products. In 2013, Betagro moved another step forward by developing QR codes for its S-Pure and Betagro brands enabling more domestic and overseas customers to have access to the e-Traceability System.
