Biosecurity Management

Betagro has implemented the Betagro Biosecurity Management System, with an aim to reduce livestock disease risks. This system focuses on holistic management including physical infrastructure, process controls, and employee awareness in disease prevention, to minimize exposure and limit disease transmission across the supply chain—from feed plants and farms to transportation and processing facilities.

Betagro’s biosecurity management consists of three core components:

1. Animal Segregation:

Animal segregation involves separating animals, particularly by age, within controlled environments. This is achieved using the All-In/All-Out system for poultry and swine, which helps break infection cycles through thorough cleaning and disinfection between flocks.

2. Transport Control:

Strict transport protocols include selecting hygienic vehicles for farms, avoiding high-risk routes, and determining clear traffic flows within farms to reduce contamination risk.

3. Cleaning & Disinfection:

Cleaning and disinfection involves rigorous sanitation of farm equipment, materials, and personnel. Farms are supplied with disinfected tools and protective gear for workers and visitors, aligned with the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
