Betagro was founded in 1967 to commence commercial operations of the animal feed business. Our first feed factory was in Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan. Then we continued to grow our operations and expand our production base to Lop Buri to support our integrated business expansion across the agro-industrial and food products. Our business started with animal feed production, raising of livestock and breed development including pigs, broilers, and layers as well as breeder farming, production and distribution of animal health products and quality food products.
Laying Business Foundation: Our business started from commercial operations of the animal feed business. Then we expanded into industrial production from the production of feed to the raising of livestock and breed development.
Entering Agro-Industrial and Food Business: We began to expand into a vertically integrated agro-industrial business. We also started our first animal health product factory and established a joint venture with our international trading partner to share expertise and experience in order to strengthen our chicken production and processing as well as slaughtering.
Growing with Full Potential: This was a time for Betagro’s business expansion. We expanded our production bases across all regions of Thailand. We established Food Complex 1, our first food production base to increase the production of poultry, both fresh meat and cooked products for export. Our subsidiary was awarded a Good Manufacturing Practices certification from the Ministry of Health. We also participated in more corporate social responsibility activities. Moreover, we established a joint venture with our domestic and international partners to expand into business with high potential growth.
Enhancing by Technology and R&D: We established Food Complex 2, a production base to increase the production of poultry, pork and sausages. We opened our BETAGRO Shop and established a joint venture with our international trading partner to produce processed food with our specific pathogen free (“SPF”) pork meat for export. We established the Betagro Science Center to provide laboratory testing services. We also launched our first pork products under the S-Pure brand for the premium market and launched our CSR campaign “Holistic Area Based Community Development (HAB) Model” before expanding nationwide.
Growing for Better Quality of Life: We continued to expand our business and commit to improving quality in all aspects with efficient production and management systems, innovation and cutting-edge technology as well as new research and development to provide products and services with high standard and quality. We expanded our “Betagro E-Traceability” to allow B2C customers in Thailand and Hong Kong to trace the source of our S-Pure products. We also opened our first BETAGRO Deli, our food retail shop.
Striving to Upgrade Food Industry: Betagro still strived to develop the business and continue our success to the next decade. In 2017, we earned the certification for the world’s first “Raised Without Antibiotics (RWA)” by the National Sanitation Foundation International (“NSF”) for our S-Pure chicken products, creating a new standard for Thailand's chicken meat production industry. Moreover, our first full-service pet food factory located in Lop Buri began its production. Then in 2019, Betagro Central Kitchen and Food Innovation Center started its operation to increase capability for developing processed food and new products. We started to implement the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System in 2020 to improve Betagro’s supply chain management from data utilization. Finally, we have increased our registered capital to Baht10,000 million.
