Betagro was founded in 1967 to commence commercial operations of the animal feed business. Our first feed factory was in Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan. Then we continued to grow our operations and expand our production base to Lop Buri to support our integrated business expansion across the agro-industrial and food products. Our business started with animal feed production, raising of livestock and breed development including pigs, broilers, and layers as well as breeder farming, production and distribution of animal health products and quality food products.

The First Decade
1967–1976

Laying the foundation : Before expanding into animal feed production, livestock farming, and advanced breeding programs, Betagro began its journey with grain trading and animal feed ingredients. The company was one of the early pioneers in Thailand’s agricultural industry, adopting advanced technologies and modern management practices to drive progress.

The Second Decade
1977–1986

Comprehensive Expansion : Betagro began its expansion into the comprehensive agro-industrial sector, with a strong focus on value creation through technology and innovation. During this period, we established our first facility for veterinary medicine and animal nutrition supplements, and forged international partnerships to acquire expertise and know-how – enhancing our production and processing capabilities.

The Third Decade
1987–1996

Quality-Driven Growth : Betagro focused on holistic development across products, people, and production systems. The company expanded its production footprint nationwide and established its first food production hub – the Betagro Food Industrial Complex – to enhance its capacity for producing fresh and cooked chicken for export. In parallel, its subsidiaries achieved GMP certification and actively engaged in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Betagro also entered strategic joint ventures with both domestic and international partners to tap into high-potential business opportunities.

The Fourth Decade
1997–2006

Advancing Operational Excellence : Despite the 1997 financial crisis, Betagro continued to enhance production efficiency while adding value to its agricultural and food products. During this phase of growth, the company opened its second food complex to expand production capacity for pork, poultry, and sausage. Around then, the first Betagro Shop was launched to strengthen retail presence. Betagro also formed strategic partnerships with international allies to introduce SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) pork and the premium S-Pure brand, targeting high-end markets. A key milestone during this period was the establishment of the Betagro Science Center, offering laboratory testing services, along with the launch of a holistic, area-based CSR development model.

The Fifth Decade
2007–2016

Raising Food Industry Standards : This decade marked a new standard of excellence across all facets of the food industry, emphasizing efficient production and technology-driven management. Betagro continued to invest in research and development to deliver high-quality products that enrich people's lives. We also introduced the Betagro E-Traceability system, ensuring transparent product tracking for both domestic markets and key international markets such as Hong Kong. During this period, Betagro launched its first Betagro Deli to expand its distribution network and actively advanced CSR initiatives to lay the foundation for sustainable growth.

The Sixth Decade
2017-2025

Driving Innovation for Sustainability : Since 2017, Betagro has continuously innovated its products and management practices to elevate Thailand's food industry to international standards. A key milestone was the development of the S-Pure brand – premium pork, chicken, and eggs that are completely free of antibiotics. S-Pure became the first and only Thai brand to receive NSF certification for all three product categories, with chicken certified in 2017, followed by pork and eggs in 2018.

In 2019, Betagro reinforced its leadership in the pet segment by opening Asia’s most advanced and comprehensive pet food plant, demonstrating its commitment to serving the rapidly growing pet market.

In 2020, Betagro established the Betagro Central Kitchen and Food Innovation Center – a hub for research and development in food processing. The center focuses on delivering safe, great-tasting products tailored to diverse consumer lifestyles.

Another key advancement for Betagro was the improvement of its supply chain management through the adoption of an ERP system, aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs. In parallel, Betagro increased its registered capital to 10 billion baht in preparation for its listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). BTG shares made their trading debut on November 2, 2022, reflecting the company’s strong financial position and market credibility.

In 2023, Betagro advanced its supply chain capabilities by launching a smart factory – the Nong Bun Mak feed mill in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The company also established its venture arm, Betagro Ventures, to foster an ecosystem of investment and innovation, with a focus on sustainable food solutions. This includes the launch of alternative protein products under the Brand Meatly, along with several emerging brands.

Additionally, Betagro Ventures entered into joint ventures in the alternative protein space, including mycelium-based innovations, as well as partnerships with Meatable and Plantable – further strengthening Betagro’s commitment to future-forward, sustainable food technologies.

In 2024, Betagro expanded its international footprint by launching its first animal feed mill in Laos, marking a significant step into overseas production. In 2025, the company strengthened its position as a regional player through the acquisition of Eggriculture in Singapore, a deal valued at over 1.9 billion baht. This move reflects Betagro’s strategic commitment to expanding its business across the region.

Innovation, research, and development have been central to Betogro’s success over the decades. The company is committed to delivering high-quality protein products that meet the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility, aligned with evolving consumer needs. The Betagro Innovation Center plays a vital role in driving the company’s strategic direction, supporting each business unit through the adoption of advanced technologies—reinforcing Betagro’s vision to become an innovation-driven, sustainable food company.
