Five Core Sustainability Strategies (2023–2025)

Betagro is committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and delicious food at fair prices through sustainable production. To achieve this, we have identified key sustainability issues – BETAGRO Materiality Topics —that are critical to our business operations, stakeholders, and supply chain. For the period 2023-2025, we have established five core sustainability strategies:

1. Food Quality and Safety

We conduct extensive research and innovation in animal husbandry, feed, and food production to ensure the highest standards of food safety. Our flagship brand, S-Pure, is the first and only Thai brand certified by NSF International (USA) for “Raised Without Antibiotics” (RWA) across chicken, pork, and eggs.
  • We aim to reduce antimicrobial use in animals by 50% by 2027 through improved farming practices and awareness programs in collaboration with external farms.
  • We have implemented robust tracking systems for antibiotic use and actively monitor antimicrobial resistance (AMR), ensuring compliance with national regulations and global best practices.

2. Climate Change Management

Betagro has set a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 20% by 2030 and aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050. Key actions include adopting renewable energy sources – such as solar, biomass, and biogas – improving energy efficiency, and continuously monitoring progress.

3. Community Development

Guided by our philosophy of “Understanding, Engagement, and Development”, we promote holistic, area-based community development to build strong relationships with communities surrounding our operations and to support their well-beings across five key dimensions: economy, health, environment, society, and education. By 2025, we aim to:
  • Implement holistic, area-based community development projects at 100% of our operating sites.
  • Positively impact 20,000 households through community-based initiatives.
  • Conduct 50 job creation projects for people with disabilities.

We have implemented numerous projects, including forest conservation, community product development, skills training for vulnerable groups, and employee volunteer programs.

4. Sustainable Packaging

Betagro is working toward using 100% eco-friendly packaging by 2030, focusing on redesigning for reusability, recyclability, and compostability, and resource reduction.
  • Currently, over 97% of our packaging is eco-friendly.
  • Notable achievements include the S-Pure paper tray, which reduces plastic use by 80%, and the Betagro Saijai bag, which cuts over 1.28 tons of plastic waste annually.

5. Occupational Health and Safety

Recognizing employees as the most valuable resource, we are committed to promoting their quality of life by upholding high safety standards in both the workplace and work processes. We have adopted Process Safety Management to develop the Betagro Safety Framework, with the goal of achieving zero incidents.
