Quality Kitchens Project

Quality Kitchens

Good self-awareness leads to personal and social development. Betagro Group, as a leader in the integrated food business, places a high priority on promoting food safety, especially in school kitchens on which the health of students often depends. To give back to the communities where Betagro factories are located, the “Quality Kitchens” project was initiated on Betagro’s 40th anniversary to improve the quality standards of school kitchens, with emphasis onhygiene and cleanliness, as well as to promote food safety awareness innearby communities.

In the initial phase, the Quality Kitchens project was introduced to a total of 40 targeted schools in Pattananikom and Chaibadan districts, Lop Buri province, and in Pakchong district, Nakorn Ratchasima province. The Quality Kitchen project focuses on improving the nutritional and hygiene standards of school kitchens through various long term activities. This includes education and consultation on food safety, kitchen hygiene as well as financial support for each school to improve their kitchen to the required standards. In addition, training sessions related to food safety are regularly provided to further cultivate awareness of good kitchen practices amongst students and teachers, and encourage them to pass on their knowledge and set good examples on food safety and kitchen hygiene for the rest of the community.

At the project hand-over, the joyful singing and bright smiles of the students gladdened the hearts of all those involved in what is essentially a simple and practical initiative but with far-reaching benefits. At Betagro, we believe the Quality Kitchens project is an effective catalyst to a whole new era of a broad based increased awareness of the importance of safety and hygiene in food preparations throughout the entire country.
